Lauren Noel Bailey: This is a project that began over a decade ago, when I first began to question my personal definitions of beauty. I wanted to understand what I was ascribing to and why. Through these questions I began to embark upon a journey out of an eating disorder and into actual life. I continue to be curious about the different ways humanity has defined beauty historically. My mission now is to explore aesthetics, identity, and definitions of beauty—to unpack perceptions and learn to challenge them. I will be exploring how we have defined beauty historically to better understand how these definitions have impacted the way we define beauty today. We're going to ask some questions here, and we're definitely going to be curious. I'm so glad you're here.
